The Conservatives Can’t Afford a Coronation.

I posted this yesterday to my twitter feed. It’s a summary of my thoughts on why the federal Conservatives are really doing themselves a disservice by not encouraging credible challengers to contest Peter Mackay as leader of the party. I do think Michelle Rempel ought to consider a run for the top job as I think she’d at least force a number of hard conversations the Conservative Party needs to have with itself if it wants to be relevant to Canadians. Who knows what will happen though. In the meantime here are my thoughts on the current status quo, enjoy!:

Especially after recent performances by @JustinTrudeau on the international scene. His performance on the #Flight752 file has put him in a different light compared to his previous term as Prime Minister. Also #CPC attempts to paint him as an elite over doughnuts have failed

As well as redefine what #conservatives stand for in #Canada today. Instead @PeterMacKay demonstrates he’s only focused on tearing down @JustinTrudeau from four years ago. The problem with this strategy is the rest of the country has moved on. #cpc clearly hasn’t.
