Bell, Bell, Bell…

It’s amazing how quickly Bell has undone years of good will built up with their #bellletstalk Day. For years, Bell appeared to be the giant conglomerate who cared about your well being. This year started off no different. Until the day ended.

Then Bell went on a job cutting spree in the middle of a global pandemic. Letting go of long time employees to save costs. Culminating in this:

What happened today at #TSN1040 has gutted many of us. Blindsiding employees is abusive + demoralizing. It strips you of your confidence + dignity. It deeply damages your mental health.
I mean, the first song they played after pulling the plug on everyone was Good Riddance. 💔

I’m not sure how next year Bell promotes #bellletstalk day without the reference to the thousands of nation wide layoffs. If you think that because an entire year will have gone by and we will all forget about it, keep in mind that the people they fired made their careers from storytelling. I have no doubt they’ll remind us.
